What do you live by ?

 

WHAT DO YOU LIVE BY?

Some live by feelings, Which are up, 

And many times down.

If we fix our eyes on them, 

they could have us drown.

Then get up and rise, for the battle may be lost.

But the War must still go on 

Some live by the traditions, 

of what their fathers did say.

They decide to die by it,

 Come what May.

 Traditions are vanity when they contradict the word.

 Don't hold fast to it, lest your beliefs are weird.

Some live by, what their dear

 friends have to say.

They compromise their conviction,

 lest they turn away.

 The Friend of Sinners, His way we must walk 

 Speak of Him, at times in your talk.

 

Some live by what their 

spouse and children say.

They forsake the cross, 

 for their worldly ways.

Hence they walk not, the Way of the Disciples

Remain babes, Disturbed at every crisis.

Few live by the Word, 

for in Jesus they abide 

They love the truth,

 And walk by His side.

They delight in His word, for He is Just and Right.

Saviour sustains them, as they fight the good fight

There are those who, 

Live by the Spirit.

Crucify the flesh, 

its passion they kill it 

They seek to be the salt and in this world a  light.

Time to refill, in  God's Power  &  Might.

Live by Faith, proclaimed 

The Saints of Old.

Walked as  pilgrims,

They'll tread the streets of Gold.

" They belonged not to this world." Believed

In the Father who cares and feeds the birds.
