Unbiblical Doctrine: Forgive yourself.

 

We all need forgiveness. - Jesus said everyone who realizes that he is sick , goes to the doctor. Similarly the one who recognizes that he is a sinner goes to the one who Saves ( Jesus - THE REDEEMER ).

When we first heard the gospel , we were convicted of our sins and we called upon Jesus to forgive our sins which we did very eagerly and earnestly.

Are we reminded sometimes of our sins even after we have confessed our sins to God? Yes , cause we have an enemy namely Satan and the flesh. Satan is called the accuser of the brethren. The Bible tells us to “ Resist the devil “ ( James 4:7 ) - don't take his advice or suggestions, for he is a liar and the master of all lies.

When we are reminded of the past , remember that 

🔹we cannot forgive our own sins but Jesus can.( Matt 9:6). 

🔹The Pharisees were scripturally right , when they said only God can forgive our sins ( Mark 2:7 )

They were not aware that Jesus was - God Manifested in flesh.

🔹When David sinned , Nathan did not advise him to forgive himself but informed him that the Lord has taken away his sin. ( 2 Sam 12:13).

🔹When an adulterous woman came to him, Jesus did not advise her “ please forgive yourself “ but He said to her “ …your sins are forgiven….”( Lk 7:48).

🔹You need to stand on the word of God in regards to your forgiveness. ( If we confess our sins , he is faithful and righteous to forgive all our sins - 1 jn1:7). 

🔹Don't condemn yourself, where God has approved( even forgiveness).
