📖 The Bible speaks about the signs of the end times. For eg, it speaks of the happening of situations on the planet Earth eg. Wars, earthquakes, and famines.Mat24 About the future happening in the sky: moon turning red, the sun being darkened…etc (Mat24:29)
🎤We rarely hear from the pulpit about the church in these last days, as forecasted in the scriptures.
"But realize this, that in the last days, difficult times will come. [2] For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, slanderers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, [3] unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, [4] treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, [5] holding to a form of godliness although they have denied its power; avoid such people as these. -2 Tim 3:1-5
Verses like these are not very pleasant to hear hence it is rarely talked about or preached. In fact, verses that speak about the believers, which are not comforting are quickly attributed to unbelievers, for eg “ the house that was built on sand and it collapsed when the storm came. ( Matt 7 24- 27). The virgins that were left behind (Matt 25: 1-13 ).
The above verses in 1 Tim 3 ( 1 to 4 ) speak about the believers in the end times.
Why do the scriptures show forth the picture about the end times believers?
🔹Surely a warning for us that we “Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let’s cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.” (2 Cor 7:1).
🔹God was not pleased with many believers, who came out of Egypt…( 1 Cor 10:5).
🔹Jesus is the same, yesterday, today, and forever…
After forgiving people, He said ‘ Sin no more ..(John 5:4, Jn 8:11 )
🔹The scriptures tell us to walk as Jesus walked..1 Jn2:6
Prayer :
Lord help me to be a light, in this perverse generation.
Renewed by Thy Spirit, a new creation.
Trusting daily on your Grace Alone.
Seeking divine Help at thy Throne.
